What is not included in a comprehensive heavy vehicle insurance policy?

Though extensive in coverage, there are a few things that are not included in a comprehensive heavy vehicle insurance policy, such as -

1)     Unlawful accidents

If you met with an accident due to driving under the influence of alcohol or any other such intoxication, your claim to repair the damages incurred in that accident will be rejected. Even if you get into an accident without carrying the required documents such as your driver's license, a valid insurance copy and your vehicle's registration certificate, the claim raised to repair the damages caused in the same will be rejected.

2)     Accidents outside the insured geographical area

If you met with an accident that is outside the geographical location that you are insured for, the claim raised for the same would be rejected.

3)     Damages caused due to wear and tear of the vehicle

A commercial heavy vehicle insurance plan provides you financial protection against the damages incurred to you, your vehicle, and the third party in an accident. However, it does not cover you for the damages incurred to your vehicle due to its daily usage.

4)     Damages incurred due to war and similar events

The damages incurred to your heavy vehicle due to war, military activities, nuclear or radioactive elements will not be covered by the commercial heavy vehicle insurance plan.
